a gesture...
this day
one year ago
Justin McGovern
a vibrant, sporty, ragamuffin teen from our little town
was walking home
in the early hours of a foggy Sunday morning
when a few hundred metres from his home
he was struck by a vehicle
that did not stop
...
...
Justin died in the middle of the road
before help could be summoned
....
a year has passed
and still no one has come forward to claim responsibility
....
I left a paper heart by the cross that sits next to the road

week 51...
one page from a Readers Digest novel
folded and pamphlet bound with horse's hair
taken from found birds nest
cupped in the nest-finder's hands

week 50...
On the 12th day of the 12th month in the 12th year of the twenty first century...
family and friends gathered on the windy beach
to witness the marriage of our gorgeous niece - T.N. to her wonderful man - M.E.
I commemorate the moment with outstretched hand and red-edged book
and capture the spirit of the day on the beach...
one red covered, red edged book
on Camel Rock beach, Bermagui
one bride, one groom,
four bridesmaids, four groomsmen, one flower girl, one page boy,
one happy crowd of family and friends
one happy crowd of family and friends
12.12.12
Curse on all laws but those which love has made!
Love, free as air at sight of human ties,
Spreads his light wings, and in a moment flies.
Alexander Pope
